Buying

Please be sure to read the following before participating in an auction.

1 Catalogue

Each time we hold an auction, we publish a catalogue containing images and descriptions of the properties(Lots). If you wish to receive a catalog, please request one through our website, by e-mail, or by phone.

2 Viewing

Prior to each auction, a pre-auction viewing is held where all the Lots up for auction are available for your inspection. A sale cannot be cancelled once a Lot has been knocked down, so please be sure to check the condition of the Lot for yourself in advance. If you have questions or want advice about an Lot, please feel free to ask one of our staff members at the pre-auction viewing.

3 Registration

If you wish to participate in an auction, you must register in advance. There are two types of registration: corporate and individual. In either case, you will need to fill out a Customer Registration Form and provide personal identification documents. For details, please consult our website or make inquiries by e-mail or by phone.

4 Auction

Our auctions are conducted by the competitive bidding method, and you may participate in any one of the following three ways. In all cases, you are required to register as a customer in advance.

A Paddle display:
On the day of the auction, you will arrive at the auction site and sign our designated forms at the reception desk. After that, you will receive a paddle. In the auction hall, the auctioneer will bid up the price of the Lots in the catalogue in the order of their Lot numbers. If you wish to bid on a Lot, raise your paddle so that the auctioneer can see it. When the hammer strikes, the holder of the paddle number that the auctioneer reads off is considered the successful bidder.

B Telephone bidding:
Fill out the required items in the "Absentee / Telephone Bidding Form" found in the back of your catalogue and send it to us by postal mail, fax, or e-mail so that it arrives by 5:00PM, Japan Time, on the day before the auction. Please be aware that we have only a limited number of telephone lines available, so if there is a large number of applicants for telephone bidding, we will accept them on a first-come, first-served basis.

C Absentee bidding:
Fill out the required items in the "Absentee / Telephone Bidding Form" found in the back of your catalogue and send it to us by postal mail, fax, or e-mail so that it arrives by 5:00PM, Japan Time, on the day before the auction.
