Surpassed Last Year’s Results and Achieved Second-Highest Performance with Over 90% Sell-Through - 2024 Annual Report Released -
On Friday, January 17, 2025, SBI Art Auction Co., Ltd. published its annual report reviewing our 2024 activities.
In 2024, we held a total of seven auctions. Thanks to the tremendous and ongoing support from collectors, art enthusiasts, and many others, we recorded total auction sales of 6.01 billion yen, surpassing last year’s results, which were the second highest since our auction business began. This was also a year of significant growth toward becoming a more international auction house, as we launched collaborative projects with external companies in various fields and held our very first overseas traveling preview in Seoul, South Korea.
This report explores our company’s activities from various perspectives, offering a glimpse into a segment of the Japanese art market. As a new initiative this year, we have focused on the artist KUSMA Yayoi—one of the artists we handled extensively in 2024—and examined her works to gain deeper insight into her position in the art world.
