SBI Art Auction is pleased to present the “58th SBI Art Auction｜MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART" on Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27, 2023. The sale will feature “JAN 24, 1971 “Today” Series No.2” by KAWARA On, a leading figure in conceptual art. The work appears on the cover of this sale’s catalogue. Outstanding works of post-war art including an oil painting by the GUTAI master SHIRAGA Kazuo, and YUN Hyong-Keun, a prominent figure of the Korean monochrome paintings will be presented. Another highlight includes works by young Japanese contemporary artists such as IDA Yukimasa and HANAI Yusuke. In addition, emerging overseas artists will also be featured, including Jason Boyd KINSELLA, whose work will be first introduced in Japan, as well as Katherine BERNHARDT and Edgar PLANS.
