■SAKE – Highlights

● Iwate Prefecture – “innocent” Kikunotsukasa Sake Brewery

With the concept of "a precious moment that only the brewers can experience," this Junmai-daiginjo Sake offers a fresh, fruity flavor.

● Kanagawa Prefecture – "S.tokyo" Nakazawa Sake Brewery

“Yeast S.tokyo” is the second oldest sake yeast in the world, originally discovered in 1909 but never used in sake brewing.
It is characterized by a slight sweetness reminiscent of white grapes and a refreshing acidity.

● Nagano Prefecture – "narai" Suginomori Sake Brewery

This sake embodies the blessings of Nagano's clear and refreshing nature with the use of mountain water and locally produced sake rice. It has a crisp, slightly sparkling taste with a fresh sweetness like that of Japanese pears.

● Shizuoka Prefecture – "Haginishiki" Haginishiki Sake Brewery

The Toji (master brewer) depicts Haginishiki’s label based on what she feels from each year's sake brewing.
The labels change every year to embody the sake brewing philosophy of continuous thinking and sensing.

● Aichi Prefecture – "Konotsukasa" Shibata Sake Brewery

Its slightly sparkling taste reminds you of the days of summer filled with elation. It has low alcohol and uses ultra-soft water.
These characteristics allow you to comfortably drink sake even on a hot day.

● Shiga Prefecture – ”Te to Te” Naminooto Sake Brewery

This sake aims to become a modern standard of sake.
Wataribune, one of the rare sake rice brands, undergoes pasteurization, which gives the sake a certain and moderately gentle flavor and aroma. The most significant characteristic of this sake is its transparency, allowing you to drink it smoothly.

● Mie Prefecture – ”KINO” Gensaka Sake Brewing

KINO is made under the concept of "all industries belong to agriculture".
This thought leads to a strategy of brewing with rice grown by the brewery without any pesticides. Please enjoy the high-density rice flavor.

● Hyogo Prefecture – "QA" Miyake Sake Brewery

QA (Que) is a sake that embodies the sincere spirit of the brewers who continually question and engage with the land's nature, and the taste of the rice brewed with the blessings of the local environment.

● Tottori Prefecture – "Bentenmusume" Ota Sake Brewery

This sake is pressed in a Funé, a long and narrow box made of cherry blossom wood.
The brewers use rice exclusively from a single sake rice farmer. During the process, the rice is thoroughly melted.

● Hiroshima Prefecture – "UGO" Aihara Sake Brewery

The UGO series incorporates new sensibilities into the techniques we have cultivated up to now and pursues a freer sensibility in future craftmanship. JUBAR, signifying "sunshine," has a slightly thickened and smooth texture with gentle aromas of Delaware grapes, pear melon, and a hint of black tea. It is accented with citrus-like acidity and astringency, as if it is a concentrated bounty of the sun.

● Yamaguchi Prefecture – "ROOM" Yachiyo Sake Brewery

This sake has a gorgeous aroma reminiscent of the tropics and a gentle, elegant sweetness.
Please enjoy a glass that will accompany your toast and make you feel even richer.

● Fukuoka Prefecture – "Oga" Oga Sake Brewery

Junmai Ginjo brewed with Yamadanishiki, a type of sake rice from Fukuoka Prefecture.
Its gentle aroma and flavor are combined with a non-intrusive aftertaste that naturally complements food and a glass of sake.

■What is Thursday Lates Powered by SAKEJUMP?

We aim to go beyond providing a place for selling and buying artworks to become a platform that offers special experiences and connections to art lovers. As part of our efforts, we have planned this event from the angle of ART x SAKE. The sequence of brewing, distribution, and consumption of sake strongly reflect the uniqueness of the region and its local climate and customs. Furthermore, the culture related to sake, which has been nurtured by the creativity and dedication of its brewers, is profound. We believe that exploring this sake culture shares similarities with the fascination of engaging with art, offering a rich tapestry of traditions and innovations to discover and appreciate.

SAKEJUMP is an organization which has been dedicated to promoting the fine taste of sake, its culture, and especially, enthusiastic thoughts and activities of young brewers, to the wider world, and SBI Art Auction shares similar aspirations with SAKEJUMP, which endeavors to revitalize the contemporary art and market in Japan, although we are both in different fields of business.

Inspired by the hometowns of the artists who will be featured in the July sale, we have curated a selection of 12 different types of sake from emerging sake breweries from all over Japan, from Tohoku to Kyushu. By extending the opening hours of the auction preview and providing an opportunity to enjoy sake together with art, we hope to expand the relationship between art and sake, and to introduce sake culture to visitors to Japan during the Tokyo Art Week in the summer, including Tokyo Gendai Art Fair. We are looking forward to welcoming you to this event (Admission is free!).

■camo, Inc.

camo, a startup dedicated to spreading the deliciousness and culture of Japanese sake worldwide, hosts the festival for young brewers, 'Wakate no Yoake (sakejump)",and organizes the Sake Award, which selects the best sake brewery of the year chosen by liquor stores across Japan. They also operate 'PRIME SAKE,'the world's first single-serving sake can specialty store at Haneda Airport International Terminal, and develop the sake app 'camo.' With strong relationships with over 150 breweries nationwide, they are making unprecedented new proposals for the Japanese sake industry.

■What is SAKEJUMP?

"Wakate no Yoake (sakejump)" is a sake event that has been held since 2007, organized by brewery owners. In September 2022, camo took over the event, expanding and renewing it, now held mainly in Otemachi. To date, 143 breweries from 42 prefectures have participated. This event, the only one in the world where young brewers gather, has attracted significant attention and fostered a strong community among these brewers, leading to collaborative efforts such as supporting the revival of breweries affected by the Noto earthquake. This year, the event will be held from September 10-15, featuring over 60 breweries from around the world.

■『BYOO(Bring Your Own Ochoko)Campaign』

We will present a limited number of SAKEJUMP’s original Ochoko (small cups suitable for drinking sake) to visitors! This Ochoko will give you some extra savings if you bring it to an up-coming sake event “Wakate no Yoake (sakejump)” which will be held in this September.
